Dr. Amy Alzina is currently the Superintendent/Principal of the Cold Spring School District in Montecito, CA, a position she has held for the past seven years.
Dr. Amy Alzina’s approach to leadership is centered on creating a collaborative student-centered team focused on ensuring the academic and social emotional support of every child.
As Superintendent/Principal for Cold Spring School District, Dr. Amy Alzina has achieved the top District ranking in the State in ELA, Math, and Science for the past six years. Most recently, the District has been recognized as a 2023 California Distinguished School, a 2023 Exemplary Arts in Education School, and received a AAA Financial Rating from S&P Global.
Prior to Cold Spring, Dr. Amy Alzina served eighteen years in the Santa Barbara Unified School District, eleven years as an Elementary Principal and Interim Elementary Assistant Superintendent and seven years as a teacher. While principal at Adams Elementary School and the Santa Barbara Community Academy, both schools were recognized as California Distinguished Schools and Title I Achieving Schools. At the time of Dr. Alzina's departure from Adams Elementary, it was recognized as a National ESEA Distinguished School.
