About me
Dr. Holly Edds currently serves as the Superintendent of the Orcutt Union School District, where she has worked as a school site and district level administrator since 2004. She began her career as a bilingual special education and regular education teacher in the King City Union School District and Paso Robles Unified School Districts where she was recognized as teacher of the year before moving to the San Miguel Joint Union School District where she served as an assistant principal and superintendent/principal. Additionally, she served as a program specialist for students and families in the Migrant Education Program in San Luis Obispo County. She also currently is a faculty member in the Educational Leadership and Administration Programs for California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and California Lutheran University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from University of California, Irvine, a master’s degree in Education from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and a joint doctorate from University of California, Santa Barbara and California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
In 2018-19 she was elected by her peers to serve as the statewide president of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) after serving in multiple roles in the organization. In this role, she served as spokesperson for over 17,000 district and school site leaders in California and had the opportunity to advocate for students at the local, state, and national levels. During this time, she met with leaders at the White House, in Congress, and even traveled to India to meet with the Dalai Lama to discuss social-emotional and ethical learning in American schools. She believe strongly in the use of technology to bridge the inequities that exist in our world, and has the honor of serving as a District Advisor to Future Ready Schools and as a member of the League of Innovative Schools.
