Joost DeMoes is the President of Next Gen Math, known for his dedication to mathematics education, prowess in innovative system design, and entrepreneurial spirit. With a diverse background spanning many educational roles, Joost has served as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Business across two districts, and County Administrator of Instructional Services. He has also held positions as a middle school principal in two schools, an elementary principal in two schools, and taught Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at both high school and middle school levels. His experience extends to elementary education, having taught first and sixth grade. Joost also has shared his expertise as a university professor.
Notably, Joost spearheaded the groundbreaking work of The Learning Network, a pioneering team dedicated to continuous systems improvement. Under his leadership, they developed an innovative improvement model that has been adopted by numerous California school districts. Additionally, Joost is the mastermind behind the Rigor Mat, a revolutionary tool that not only elevates daily mathematics learning but also offers insightful interpretations of assessment data across all proficiency levels. His passion for advancing mathematical education and his innovative contributions continue to shape the landscape of educational practices.
