About me
Nicole Newman, Ed.D., is an accomplished educational leader with over 25 years of experience, including 22 years in district leadership roles. Since 2018, she has served as the Superintendent of Schools for Wheatland Union High School District, where she has driven significant academic and financial success, positioning the district as a "Destination of Choice." Nicole has a strong background in transforming educational environments, increasing enrollment, expanding Career and Technical Education pathways, and implementing early college programs that empower students to earn college credits before graduation.
Throughout her career, Nicole has secured over $40 million in grants and led numerous district-wide initiatives, including the creation of a virtual academy, the installation of solar energy systems, and significant infrastructure improvements. She has also been instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive culture, improving graduation rates, and enhancing educational opportunities for all students.
Nicole holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership from the American College of Education (2024), along with multiple degrees in education and instructional technology from East Carolina University. She has served in various roles, including high school principal and PK-12 principal, across multiple districts in California and Colorado.
In addition to her professional achievements, Nicole is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of educators. She is also the CEO of NewEd Consulting, LLC, where she supports educational leaders and institutions in achieving their goals through grant writing, coaching, and consulting services.
Nicole is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including serving as a State Board Member for the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and President-Elect of the California Small School Districts Association (SSDA).
