Preparing for a crisis situation has a lot to do with readiness, but not everything. Today’s safety experts agree that building organizational safety means building capacity to rapidly address the catalysts that lead to escalated incidents, particularly mental health.

Today’s leaders in safety and security recognize that planning ahead means addressing the here and now, including whether students and teachers have access to mental health supports, how the school culture recognizes the value of communication, and what every member of the community can do to support those in need before the need for crisis intervention is required.

This session with Dr. Hausner and panel , will look at the combination of safety, security, and supports, including new techniques leveraging wearable panic badges that go into planning, examining the relationship between these three elements, and revealing how initiatives to improve school culture, student support, and overall engagement are leading to better safety outcomes for all.
